A week ago, my good friend Liz stopped by the studio and had short hair.
A couple of days ago, she came back for a visit, with long hair this time.
Not a wig, but just very cool extensions. I’m thinking maybe I should try that as well. It looks like fun.

A couple of days ago, I was in Venice Beach. There, you can’t look anywhere without finding something cool to photograph.
The skate park was pretty crowded, but at some point most people got out of my frame except for that rad skateboarding girl.
I don’t know who she is, but I’m assuming that she is a regular, so if you live around Venice and eventually go to the park and see her, feel free to let her know she is on my blog now, looking cool… ;o)

Last Saturday, Leigh stopped by the studio for a quick photo shoot.
She was actually quite sick that day and almost didn’t make it, but I am glad she did because we got some pretty cool photos.

I am just about to go to the airport for another trip to Edmonton, but before I go, I would like to share another portrait of my friend August Wiled with you all.
As you know (if you read my blog yesterday), August dropped by the studio on Saturday and we took plenty of cool photos, with a lot of different setups.
There might have been another model there too, but that’s a surprise for another day…

As I mentioned last week, I don’t really do Christmas and I really don’t expect any presents from anyone. But what I didn’t mention was that I love treating myself with a nice new lens every once in a while.
Let me introduce the latest addition to my kit. (I’m talking about the cute piece of glass in the middle.)
So, this blog won’t be called “A life at 85mm” but you are about to see a lot more photos shot at this focal length.
Oh, and for those who know a thing or two about aperture, that baby opens at f/1.2, so if you think I had a pretty shallow depth of field before, you should hang on to your boots because backgrounds are about to get very very blurry.

For the past 5 days now, I’ve been back in Edmonton to work with the incredible people of Martyshuk Housing.
I’ve worked with them several times before and have had a blast every time.
This week was no exception. Once again, I got to spend time with people who are so full of love, warmth and happiness, even if life hasn’t always been so kind to them.
As I have been hanging around the halls with my camera for the past few days now, all of Martyshuk Housing clients know me pretty well. (Either as Brice or “camera guy”) And every time I show up, I am welcomed by big smiles, which make my job pretty sweat and easy I gotta say.

I am working on a bunch of different projects right now, and I will let you know more about them as soon as my clients give me the go.
But one thing I can show you and that I will keep shooting no matter what, is my EKTA Series.
Yesterday, Kelly dropped by the studio for a quick photo shoot.
You’ve already seen her video a few weeks ago here, but she came back for photos this time.
The EKTA Series is getting really big and is quickly getting as important as my previous Nude Fine-Art Series.
As I mentioned, I am very very busy, but if you want to book a session with me, there might still be available spots in November. (Just sayin’….)

Here is the second video of the new “My Song” Series.
This one features Victoria and she is dancing/singing on her favorite song: “And the Boys”, by Angus and Julia Stone.
We filmed this video a few months ago, and since then, got quite a lot of request for more.
A few more models are already booked in the next weeks, so hang on to your seats, because we’ll have more to share pretty soon.

Some of my friends still wonder what I exactly do when I go to Edmonton for a few weeks.
I can’t share the photos of all my projects yet, because it’s not cool to display the images before my clients get to actually use them. But here is one from the shoot I did with Regency Developments last November.
During my last trip there, I actually got the chance to shoot several projects at once, which allowed me to meet and photograph people from very different backgrounds with amazing stories.
From aboriginal people to young entrepreneurs and also formerly and currently homeless men and women.
I got to shoot a lot of amazing portraits, and can’t wait to share them with you all.
