This weekend, I got the opportunity to work with Philip Defranco and some of the Sourcefed crew, photographing some behind the scenes for the Defranco does Vancouver show…

What a blast!

Here is a photo of Phil and Steve Zaragoza before the show, chilling out on stage.

More photos coming soon.

Last week I got contracted to film a “behind the scenes” for the latest Build Direct Christmas Video.

The whole shoot was taking place a the Vancouver Christmas Market.

Usually, the first thing I think about when I have to film something like that is: “How can I get higher than ground level…?”

I asked the people at the market if I could access the building next door’s roof top, they said “no”, but they did mention that the Christmas Markets Huts roofs were solid enough to hold a guy my size… (Mmmh…)

So I grabbed the closest ladder I could find and jumped on one of the roofs.

Some of the shots I took from up there actually ended up being used in the final video, not in the behind the scenes. As nice establishing shots.

I’m honored.

Also, while I was up, the amazing Aimee Makris (from Moi Photography), who was in charge of the photo behind the scene, grabbed a pretty cool shot of me doing my thing.

Thanks Aimee!

This morning, the lovely Tita (Cupcake du Jour) and I met for another video shoot.

Some of you might remember her from the first video we did together, as an homage to all the single ladies out there.

That one will most definitely be very different and quite powerful. I’ll tell you more about it very soon, but in the mean time, here is a behind the scenes of Tita holding my camera, while filming herself.

I figured, she is doing most of the work, by singing, dancing and all, might as well ask her to shoot too. That way I can just sit, relax and snap a photo with my trusty iPhone…

If you want to be part of the “My Song” series, you know what to do…

Looks like with the amount of videos we are doing these days, "Brice Ferre Photography" will soon become "Brice Ferre Studio".

What do you guys think?

We have even created a video page on www.briceferre.com, go check it out.

I have worked for quite a while on documentaries and feature films when I was in France, so shooting and editing videos is second nature. And I am actually realizing that more and more of my photo clients ask me if we can shoot videos for them as soon as they know it’s an option.

Here is a recent video we worked on with Jennifer Williams, N°1 boudoir photographer in British Columbia and Alberta.

Remember when a few weeks ago I was shooting a “behind the scenes” video for Jennifer Williams, one of the finest boudoir photographers in Vancouver?

Well, at some point I asked Jennifer to point her camera directly toward mine and start shooting, you know, so at some point in the video I can have footage from the model’s point of view and all.

You’ll see the video I made pretty soon, but in the mean time here is the shot that Jen took.

It is quite rare to have photos of me in action so I figured you would enjoy that one. I know I do. Thanks Jen.
