I’m still in Paris for a few days, but still working on Canadian projects…

Yesterday, I had the pleasure of working on a current project for Designing Downtown, in the office where my documentary career started 10 years ago, when I worked on March of the Penguins…

A lot has changed since then, but it’s good to see that, even after 10 years, I just walked in and the amazing people of Bonne Pioche Productions welcomed me like no time had past, and showed me to a desk for me to put down my gear and finish editing my Edmonton project…

Thanks friends…!

Growing up, I wasn’t a big camping fanatic.

Then, I moved to Canada and discovered that camping could be done in places like Birkenhead lake.

I now officially dig camping… ;o)

As I mentioned last week, I don’t really do Christmas and I really don’t expect any presents from anyone. But what I didn’t mention was that I love treating myself with a nice new lens every once in a while.

Let me introduce the latest addition to my kit. (I’m talking about the cute piece of glass in the middle.)

So, this blog won’t be called “A life at 85mm” but you are about to see a lot more photos shot at this focal length.

Oh, and for those who know a thing or two about aperture, that baby opens at f/1.2, so if you think I had a pretty shallow depth of field before, you should hang on to your boots because backgrounds are about to get very very blurry.

A few weeks ago, I was in Deroche, BC and I got hired by the great people of Lacey Developments to shoot some of the houses they built. Here is one of them.

The photos I shot are not on their website yet, but they allowed me to share that sneak peek with you all. Lucky you!!!

If you are living anywhere in British Columbia and are looking to get your dream house built, look no more, because the Lacey team will make it happen for you.

If you know me, you know how much I like good food.

I was in Victoria for the past few days and got the chance to discover "Nourish Café Bistrot".

It’s one of those perfect little places where you have amazing food, great friends and a fantastic scenery. A must! If you are around Vancouver Island, be sure to drop by and say “hi” to them.

And try the BBQ Oatmeal Pancakes (“Sleeping Beauty”). It’s exactly what you think it is, pancakes made on the barbecue.

Oh, and I forgot… their coffee is perfect too!!!

Dear God I love food so much…

Here is one more video as part of the “my song” series in Vancouver.

Today we meet the fabulous Kelly Trerise, business woman, make-up artist, model, and traveler extraordinaire. When she’s not hanging out with Snoop Dog, she is all over the world beautifying women with her crazy make-up skills.

Bring her anything with a leopard print on it and she will be your friend forever.

And she’ll be sure to rock that thing, whether it is a pair of high heels, a tank top or a tight evening dress.

Enjoy.

Now, let’s be serious for a second… Who wants to be my next model?

As I took some time off last week, I have been away from my computer.

It felt good to take a break and enjoy my family and friends without thinking about work at all. But it also feels good to be back and share some of my new stuff with you all.

Here is a photo I took Saturday morning, at 5.15 am while drinking coffee on a wooden dock on the gorgeous Harrison Lake…

My family and I spent the last 3 days off the grid (literally) and got to really appreciate how amazingly beautiful British Columbia is.

More new projects, portraits, videos and photos very soon…
