This week I took my car to go location scouting in Gastown, one of Vancouver’s most touristy neighborhood.
I usually cycle everywhere, but this time, it just happen that I had to have my car with me.
Anyway, it seems that I didn’t choose the best spot to park my trusty automobile, because on my way back I had the nice surprise to see a ticket on my windshield.
I parked it on a 5 minutes passenger drop-off zone….for an hour and a half. (Oh well…)
Don’t you hate that feeling of walking toward your car seeing the white paper under the wiper?
Anyway, in any city in the world, that mistake would have cost me 35$ minimum, 150$ if the car was towed.
In Vancouver, you get a warning ticket. A WARNING TICKET !!!! NO CHARGE !!!!
Who does that ?!
And people still ask me why I love Vancouver so much.
Dear Vancouver meter maids, I love you, and you should know that I am now officially warned. Thank you.
Believe me, I come from Paris where you get a 75$ ticket from cycling on the sidewalk (because you don’t want to die by cycling on the road), this just blows my mind. ;o)
